Whats the easiest way to avoid catching a cold?!

Question: Whats the easiest way to avoid catching a cold.?
I just caught a cold today and I don't know how. I wore a jacket when it was cold and I wash my hands all the time. I don't know how in the hell I got sick.

Seriously, I hate colds. It's the worst feeling imaginable to me. If I had the choice between either getting jumped by 20 bodybuilders every month or catching a cold every month. yeah.....I would go with the bodybuilders.

So since I'm pissed that I'm sick and I got it how can I avoid catching it again this fall/winter season.? Like is there something I can do that should be easy for me to do everyday to avoid getting sick.? Because I don't want another later on.Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Simple

Go somewhere away from other people.
You cannot get it unless you inhale infectious droplets from someone else who has coughed or sneezed.

so don't go to church, school, parties, nor any other public gathering. Do all your grocery shopping at 3am when no one else is in the store.

Simple. Unless you do this, nothing else can protect you. Washing your hands sounds nice - but cannot protect you at all from germs that are transmitted by inhalation. Flu vaccine will prevent flu - but will not protect you from the common cold (colds are NOT caused by influenza virus, so the vaccine has no benefit). Don't waste money on zinc, garlic, vitamin C, and ecchinacea -- all have been disproven to have any benefit.Health Question & Answer

Colds are brought on by a virus that is airborne. Even though you wash your hands a lot you can still shake a persons hand, touch the grocery cart at the store, touch a counter, an item or a gazillion other things that were touched by someone with a cold. You could walk right through a cloud of germs that someone just coughed or sneezed out too and WHAM!, there goes a cold again. Germs are carried in the A/C and heating ducts at stores, schools, work places and just about everywhere. You can keep washing your hands, carry a bottle of the waterless hand sanitizer, and go to the drug store and get some zinc tablets or the "Airborne" product that is on the market. These will help to prevent you from catching a cold and they will also make the ones you do get a shorter duration and the symptoms will not be as bad. also, when you get a 'flu shot you don't get as many colds and if you do they don't last as long and have lesser sypmtoms too. The shot may make you feel a little 'flu like the next day but it is a myth that you get the 'flu from the shot though you do feel a little achey the next day. Those are about the only things you can do for yourself to avoid them but now that you have one you can take Vitamin C, Echinacea, Zinc tabs and it is no myth that chicken soup helps - it has the vitimins, natural herbs and minerals to help you feel better and it also warms you up -also lots and lots of fluids to push the virus through and out of your system. I hope you feel better soon!Health Question & Answer
