Answers:
No - it is not a cold.
There is a virus doing the rounds at the moment - loads of people have it and I have just got over it - it can take up to 6 weeks to go.

It is definitely not cold. Could be flu, but If it goes on for so long, it may be something else. Could be other (bateria) infections. See the link below regarding symptoms of cold and flu.

It is best you go to see a doctor. I had similar experience before and took a lot of over the counter drugs and the sore throat won't go for many weeks (over a month), then i finally saw a doctor who told me i have nasal backdripping. The nasal discharge and allergic reaction caused the continous cough for weeks and sore throat. Not to mention that i lost my voice too. (i had never been diagnosed with nasal backdripping before this incident)
Anyway, you probably don't have the same illness. However I just want to explain to you that when you have prolonged cold/flu like symptoms it could be something else and you need professional opinion.Health Question & Answer

You need to see your doctor. Being ill for so long is not a good thing. You could have strep throat, but the only way to find out for sure is to have your doctor do a throat culture. It will require antibiotics. Strep throat, untreated, can lead to other very serious problems.....Health Question & Answer
It's not a cold, it's a virus that's going round everywhere at the moment. Lots of my friends have had exactly the same thing. Just remember to take lots of fluids and if it persists, go see your GP.

There isn't much you can do honey. There is a virus going around so get enough rest and plenty of fluids. Fruit juices and Chicken Noodle soup will definitly help. Maybe a Tylenol for the headache and soreness.
