This person is also pregnant. I know it is prescribed while monitoring a detox and is usually canceled shortly after. Is it normal for a doctor to keep prescribing klonopin for anxiety for an addict or alcoholic.? Health Question & Answer

It is sometimes very good to prescribe Klonopin after detox. It is a relaxer and makes life easier and helps with the stress of whatever caused the alocholi to become addicted. But absolutely not for pregnant women. This can cause and does cause damage to the baby/fetus. Hope she will quickly talk to her doctor as you cannot just stop taking Klonopin as it causes withdrawal symptoms and she will have to be slowly weaned off of it.Health Question & Answer
I take klonopin and I would advise her to stop taking it if she is pregnant. Klonopin is also highly addictive so she may have withdrawal symptoms when getting off it. Health Question & Answer
