Answers:
Yes, it's possible.
HIV-positive mothers can prevent passing the disease onto their children during pregnancy and breastfeeding with antiretroviral drugs. It has a pretty high success rate.
In terms of not getting the mother infected with HIV, you would have to do a special kind of in vitro fertilization, since making babies the old fashioned way would obviously expose the woman to HIV.

If you were HIV positive and were having several instances of unprotected sex you are very likely to have infected the girlfriend. It is easier for men to infect women than it is for women to infect men.

The chances of her passing it onto the child however can be minimised, by having a caesarean and not breast feeding. So it is possible to father a healthy child. Although unlikely that the mother will not contract HIV. Health Question & Answer

if you are HIV positive, you WILL infect the mother, not necessarily the baby however, the odds are good that it too will be HIV positive. There is no documentation to give you exact numbers because there simply aren't any exact numbers. Suggest that you be tested and soon to find out if you are or are not HIV positive, and practise birth control for another six months if you are clear on the first test, then repeat testing, if after six months you are still negative, you can consider yourself free of HIV.Health Question & Answer

Ha you are funny dude, just because your girlfriend was sexually active does not mean you have HIV!

If you are so worried, get tested at an anonymous STD clinic.

Granted if you have unprotected sex with somebody who has HIV then there is a chance you will contract it, however there really aren't that many people walking around with HIV, it's rarer than you think, especially in the west.

For instance in the UK, 73000 people have HIV, out of 60,776,238.

That is 0.1%

Calm yourself down man and get tested.Health Question & Answer

If a female is exposed to HIV their is a high chance she will get it. If you are trying to have a child their is a 50/50 chance the baby will not have HIV with prenatal medication that is givin to the mother while pregnant. I understand you are trying to live a normal life as possible, but what will happen to the child after you two pass away.? You gotta ask yourself thatHealth Question & Answer

First, you need to have a test to see if you have HIV. Second, I don't think it would be a good idea or fair to someone to have unprotected sex in order to father a child. It would think it would be unlikely for you and your mate to both be positive and have a child that wasn't.If you are not positive, PLEASE NEVER HAVE UNPROTECTED SEX AGAIN!Health Question & Answer

If you have HIV then you WILL infect the mother during unprotected sex. YOU will not infect the baby but SHE could infect the baby during delivery. You BOTH need to go and have a blood test and YOU NEED to use a CONDOM. It would be wise to go back for ANOTHER HIV blood test in 3-6 months as the virus sometimes cannot be detected until a few months down the road. Health Question & Answer

You need to get tested. Then the mother needs to get tested. There are many cases in which people do not contract the virus. There are vaccines for unborn children. If you or the mother are positive, make sure to get the vaccine to the child, BEFORE they are born. Once a baby is born, the vaccine is not as effective.Health Question & Answer

First go get tested. Learn your status. If you are negative, retest in 3 months and use protection for the 3 months.

IF a man is HIV+ he can father a child, it should be done with the advice of a HIV specialist, there are many factor that need to be looked at, viral load, the woman's status.Health Question & Answer

No, the mother would need another man's seminal fluid to get pregnant. If you do have HIV/AIDS, your semen contains the virus. So, no but you can't father a child without infecting your wife which would then be transmitted to the baby.Health Question & Answer

first, find out if you even have hiv. just because she had multiple partners doesn't mean she's infected. if you do have hiv that means your sperm is infected and yes you can pass that on to everyone you have contact with including an unborn child. sounds like your jumping the gun tooHealth Question & Answer

Of course!! ADOPTION:) There are soooooo many beautiful babies out there that need a lot of love and a good mother and a good father. If you really want to be a father be safe. Don't even take the slightest chance of carrying on the infection! ADOPT! Good luck. Health Question & Answer

Yes, it is possible, but it's like a one in a thousand chance. so, it will be more than likely that you will have a child that is positive.Health Question & Answer

What you need to do is go to a doctor. Don't get medical advice on Yahoo, especially about something as serious as HIV.Health Question & Answer

Only when you die and have chalk applied to your gravesite.Health Question & Answer

Unfortunately, no. Your child will most likely be born with HIV.Health Question & Answer

I think it passes on to the child.Health Question & Answer

Yes and No. You should NOT have unprotected sex until you get STD tested for HIV. Make sure you dont have HIV before having sex again.
Your GF is at high risk of getting HIV from you if you have HIV. If she got pregnant she could take pills to prevent the baby from getting HIV. It has a 90% success rate of not spreading HIV to the baby. However by having unprotected sex you ARE risking the life of your GF! There is nothing available that she can take to have unprotected sex with you and NOT get HIV.
also there is a 10% risk that the baby would get HIV if she takes the HIV prevention pills when pregnant. also if she takes the pills too late the baby is at higher risk of getting HIV if the mother has HIV.

So bottom line is go to a doctor immediately and have an HIV blood test done. Dont have sex until you get the results back and then retest 6 months later (it can take 6 months for body to convert to a positive HIV status). And if the first test is negative (no HIV found yet) use a condom every time you have sex until you retest 6 months later. And STOP SLEEPING AROUND!Health Question & Answer

your best bet is to talk to a doctor about it. you will get all kinds of answers on here from people who may not be qualified to answer your questions. if you want the truth, go to your doctor and get tested every six months for awhile. if you come up negative and remain that way then yes you can father a healthy child. otherwise, be very careful. odds are that you could pass it on to the mother for sure and possibly the baby too, although the baby has les of a chance of contracting it.
