it is very hard to accept that once rabies invade your body, there is no way for you to live. Meds given for them as far as I know when they are in the late stage are just muscle relaxant.
The best way to do when a person is bitten by an animal is to wash the wound thoroughly with soap and go to the hospital for anti-tetanus and let your doctor decide if you will be given a shot for anti-rabies.
After the bite, don't kill the animal, observe it for 10 daysHealth Question & Answer

My daughter was bitten by a wild monkey recently, and had to have a series of injections as a precaution against rabies. I'm not a medical expert, but my understanding isthat, at this point (within 24 hours of being bitten) there were two possible courses of action - a single injection of antibodies (to fight the rabies directly), or a series of 5 injections to build the body's own immunity.
But your question is if the symptoms have already developed in the person. I think, at this late stage, it is a lot more difficult to treat. The important thing is to get medical advice IMMEDIATELY - you don't mess around with rabies.Health Question & Answer
