Should I take my daughter to a orthopedic doctor and/or demand an MRI?!

Question: Should I take my daughter to a orthopedic doctor and/or demand an MRI.?
Two months ago my six year old daughter was diagnosed with juvenile scoliosis. she recently went back to her pediatrician and they said there was rapid growth and her spine progressed from a 2 the a five in only two months. the pediatrician said that he would refer her to a ortho dr if depending on her x-ray. she got a X-ray the next day and it turns out she is at 14 degrees. her pediatrician says to bring her back in three months to see if she is still progressing. now every thing I read on the internet says any child under 10 yrs and with a 10 degree or more should have a MRI. What should I do.?

If it were my child, I'd take her to a scoliosis specialist. Her back will probably need monitoring and treatment. There's no way to predict how fast her curve will increase or by how much,

An x-ray may be good enough for the specialist. If that's true, you won't need the MRI. If an MRI is needed, the specialist will tell you.Health Question & Answer

Get the MRI, it is more conclusive and it can be repeated as needed. It is all more definitive and shows more.
also when in doubt , you can always seek another doctor's opinion.
Only you can make the decision , I hoped I helped a bit..... Health Question & Answer

Change pediatricians, and also go see an orthopedist.
