With HIV testing, people usually test HIV+ 90% of the time with in the first month, 94-96% at the end of 2 months and you are past both of these times, we tell people it is 99.6% at 3 months (12 weeks) and a few take a little longer.

At this point you should be confident that you are safe, BUT if you are sexually active, use a condom.Health Question & Answer

It is EXTREMELY unlikely. virtually, there is a zero chance.

I was going through your questions and I think you should realize that your problem is not HIV. You do not have HIV. Your problem is fear of HIV.

Your 11 weeks test shows that you are not infected. Actually you did not need testing in the first place. Your exposure was a zero risk exposure. As I said before, feel free to go and get tested at 3 months after your last sexual activity. But it is waste of time and money. I promise you all the other tests will be negative.

When I said EXTREMELY unliekely, I am not talking about your case. Your case was a no risk exposure. You did not need testing. Now that you did, and you got a negative result, put this behind you and move on with your life.

If you still cannot move on, talk to a therapist. You have a problem which is not HIV. It is fear of HIV, which you need to fix.Health Question & Answer

*Shrugs* there's a good chance you could still have it, even if you test negative at the 12 week mark. With the antibody test, it can take 6 months or longer for the body to make enough antibodies for it to show up on the tests.Health Question & Answer
