Answers:
Although I'm naturally very light, as soon as my skin senses some sun it starts getting darker. I like my pale skin and am protecting myself from the sun as much as possible and that's not easy here in South Africa. I recently removed all my tan and some dark patches on my face with lemon juice. It took me about 3-4 weeks, but it worked. I applied juice from freshly cut lemon on my skin (face and arms) mornings and evenings, left it for about half an hour and then rinsed it with water. Then I applied moisturizer (very important, because lemon dries the skin) and spf 100 on top of it. Some of my dark patches remained visible, though, so now I started using Palmer's Skin Success fade cream and they are fading away, I can barely see them now. The most important thing is to use the highest spf you can find during the day and reapply it every 2-3 hours. I also wear long sleeves, long pants, a light scarf on my neck and huge sunglasses when I go for a walk outside. If I lived in Europe, I would go lighter with clothes, but South African sun is really evil, so I have to cover up.
PS. The lemon juice will sting a little, but it's not harmful. Only if it gets painful, rinse off immediately and never use it again. Health Question & Answer
