Answers:
It's starve a cold, feed a fever. When you have a fever, your metabolic rate goes up markedly and you require more calories to maintain your energy levels.

When you have a simple cold, without fever, it's ok to go hungry if you don't have an appetite, because your metabolic rate really hasn't changed any, and the increase in mucus is more likely to create stomach upset. Just make sure you drink plenty of liquids to stay hydrated. Health Question & Answer

I don't know....but I know having a cold always makes me really hungry....maybe it's just a learned behavior because when I was a child my mom used to "feed my cold" and so now having a cold makes me hungry...LOL...but chicken noodle soup always makes me feel better. Campbell's is the best!Health Question & Answer
