you could try counselling i have been going to counselling for quite a while to try and help me stop drinking i tend to binge drink so i can go a few days without it but drink to much when i do counselling has helped some part but the rest is up to you! Aa can help as well to develop more motivation to stop, it is very diffcult to start with maybe the docter can you with some medication if its really bad. Try to work out why you drink and for what reasons finding out why may help you to change. i am still struggling with drink as i still see it as a social thing. Health Question & Answer

Talk to whoever you go drinking with and explain to them how you feel.

I am very similar to you and have given up but months later binge drink in which some nights I can drink very little and others not remember sections of the night.

Unfortunately my mates dont understand and whoever from the group is drinking alcohol gets ridiculed.

At the moment I just limit my budget and dont take out my cashcard so I cant drink what I can't buy.

Im still looking for the answer, unfortunately I feel the need to have a few before I can loosen up when I go out :-(Health Question & Answer

Smoke a bone instead of drinking .
You dont have to smoke the stuff forever
but just to get you over the cravings.
go out and Walk if your Fijjity..But dont drink
White knuckles all the way!
Keep your self occupied eat sleep sex whatever !
Just dont drink
If you get the urge smoke a bone..If you really dont want AA.
you dont have to have AA but maybe a meeting will give you some drunks to laugh at while your trying to stay away from it your self..
I am sure your aware of them in your neighborhood
You could get some ideas Just to help you stay away from the first drink if you want some education
MilkShakes got tons of sugar they put the pounds on ya but they DO take the cravings away..
Alcohol is so sugary this makes up for it all and satisfies the craving somewhat..
Def fill your belly.candys chocolate bars etc...
Sugary drinks thick filling frappes Sounds GOOD!

Good Luck!!!
Peace!

Health Question & Answer

Try not going to places where drink is plentiful and easy to get. If you do have alcohol, try alternating with non-alcoholic drinks.

Some people just stop drinking, even heavy drinkers. A heavy drinker is not an alcoholic.

Maybe your doctor could suggest an alternative or ring NHS Direct or maybe your local church.

Please find somebody a.s.a.p. You can do it but it seems like you need the help towards the end so that you can last longer than five months.

Hope you find the help and good luck.Health Question & Answer
