I'm not sure if its lockjaw someone help?!

Question: I'm not sure if its lockjaw someone help.?
I've been reading about lockjaw and I don't really seem to have it. I don't have pain in my mouth, and my jaw isn't shut completely. Most the day I'm fine but all of a sudden I like wont be able to talk properly cuz my mouth doesn't open all the way or its just hard to to talk and not bite down i guess, hope this doesn't sound stupid but i cant really explain it that well. This has happened to me before about a year ago I was drinking to many red bulls and when I stopped my jaw did this to me again. I went to the doctor and he said it was all in my head. But I don't drink any caffeine at all anymore. I do stress a little with work so I don't know if this could be part of it. also I went to the dentist a couple weeks ago for a deep clean and I have to wear trays with like antibiotic in it for 15 min 3 times a day, could this be it.?.?.? ANY help would be nice......sorry so long.Health Question & Answer

Answers:
It might something called tempero mandibular joint disorder...has many causes but stress is a major one...also if you're the type to drink too many red bulls then you may want to look at the rest of your diet, vitamin deficiencies can wreak havoc on your system and might contribute to the jaw problems (especially calcium, magnesium and electrolyte problems)...try getting more sleep and eating a really healthy diet...if you feel better then you know that was the problem in the first place...stress can kill you...you need to make a decision if you're going to take care of yourself or let stress take you down...Health Question & Answer

Temporomadibular joint dysfunction (TMJD). Usually caused by stress. My jaw does the same thing when I've been eating a lot of chewy foods like steak and gum or when I'm stressed. You may not know it but you're probably either grinding your teeth in your sleep or just flexing your jaw muscles really hard during the night. I tried trays and it made it worse! Relaxing via meditation really helps me. Health Question & Answer

look up TMJHealth Question & Answer

Absolutely, I had this problem when I was in high school with the jaw locking up out of nowhere. I would say look up TMJ. Don't remember what it stands for lol but I'm sure this is what you have. What helps is to avoid chewing gum, biting your nails, or talking to much. Take ibuprofen for the pain and headaches. Try to stay away from aspirin because if you have tinnitus with the TMJ, aspirin can make the ringing worse.
You should tell your dentist about it, or see a good ear-nose-throat doctor.
