Question: I've had my gallbladder removed, i'm having symptoms again, they say its gallstones now! Is this possible.?
Answers:
Oh yes, this is quite possible. Sometimes your body adapts to the removal of your gall bladder by enlarging the duct that carries bile from your liver to your small intestine (your gall bladder used to be attached to this duct). The sphincter muscle at the end of this duct remains closed and allows bile to pool directly above it. It is this pooling that gives gall stones the opportunity to form. Make sure you consult with your gastroenterologist.Health Question & Answer
your gallbladder is a storage bin for bile that your liver makes until it is needed. Once your gallbladder is removed there should be no more gallstones since the bile is not being held anywhere it should just flow out of your large intestine. Your liver should not have gallstones.Health Question & Answer
