Im always thinking that i can get it.. one way or another. I am a virgin and made out/touch other stuff but not sex with a 2 boys a year ago.. I recently got an std test for everything including hiv to feed my paranoida a few weeks ago and everything was negative of course.. I thought of course after the testing I would be fine and my life would go back to normal.. unfortunatly im still paranoid... Im in college and I use antibacteria 30 times a day and im afraid of touching desks at school because there might be dry blood on it and i might have an open wound on my hand. I have even once checked under my desk to make sure no needles were tapped under.I am DEATHLY afraid of needles and other peoples blood where I get sick to my stomach...i have even had dreams about getting stabbed with needles.. I cant go on like this! this is ridiculous.?! What should I do.? Ive told my friend but she thinks its just funny.. no on i tell will understand.. WHAT SHOULD I DO.?.?.?.?.?.?

Your risk of getting HIV/Aids is very unlikely. If you have sex, any type of sex make sure you use a condom. Before you get into a sexual relationship with someone make sure you know that person. Discuss your sexual history and make sure if there is any question of them having an STD that they get checked.

There will not be and should not be taped needles to your desk. No one would do such a thing.

You need to speak to a medical professional about your fears. They can recommend a therapist for you to speak with. Do not be embarrassed or think badly of yourself for needing to speak with a therapist. You are a normal person, with abnormal fears. They can give you coping skills to tame your fears, and if needed medication. If you don't have insurance, contact a hospital and tell them you need mental health and if they can recommend someone that works on a sliding scale. This means whatever you can afford to pay they accept. Even if it is only $5 a visit, they will take that.

You deserve to enjoy your life without living in fear. I hope you feel better.Health Question & Answer

I think you should talk to your doctor about this, because you may have a form of OCD. Your fear of getting HIV/AIDS is the obsession, and you will gradually develop compulsions to try to deal with it. In fact, you seem to have already begun to, by checking desks and using antibacterials. Please please talk to your doctor, because I have OCD and it nearly destroyed my life until I saw a doctor.Health Question & Answer

You are being ridiculous.

You can't get HIV/AIDS from a desk, a doorknob, a toilet, or anything else other than touching someone who has an open wound and HIV, or having unprotected sex with someone who has HIV or from sharing needles with someone who has HIV.

It sounds like you might need therapy to find out why you are so OCD about this.Health Question & Answer

hun you can pick up germs from desks and stuff, but not hiv, you have to come in contact with infected body fluids,

sounds to me like maybe this is an issue that should be discussed threw a therapist i am not saying you are crazy don't get me wrong, maybe if you actually read up on hiv and aids then you wont be so freaked out about it.?Health Question & Answer

See a psychiatrist, sounds like you might have obsessive compulsive disorder. It's treatable.Health Question & Answer

I would strongly encourage you to seek professional help with your paranoia. also find a local community based organization that offer informational courses on HIV.

If you don't have all the correct facts about HIV you can drive yourself crazy from what you read on the internet. Look at only reputable sites. The best and most accurate one id the CDC web site.

I have heard about the needle idea where they are taped to different spots, but it is my understanding that is more an urban legend than anything.

I totally understand your fear, and it's not funny, but education and knowledge is power.Health Question & Answer
