I need help from care givers of a past Alzhiemers patient.?!

Question: I need help from care givers of a past Alzhiemers patient..?
A family member has Alzheimer's but will not accept the fact she can no longer drive. We took the car away a yr ago but she still demands it back. The doctor has explained NO DRIVING, has even med. revoked the drivers license. We are the only family members she is giving a hard time about it. Any advice on how to handle this situation.? We have explained she has Alzheimer's, has memory loss but she still demands she is fine to drive. That she only needs it to drive to the store. We take her to the store 3 times a week, so she has no food shortage. Please only people who understand our pain and no snide remarks.Health Question & Answer

They call Alzheimer's a 'carer's disease' as eventually, the family suffer more than the patient.

Believe me, the problems are going to get much worse as this terrible illness progresses, so you must start now to get all the information on Alzheimer's as you possibly can.

There's plenty special centres these days for carers, so I would suggest you pay them a visit and find out what help is available to you.
In UK, carers receive financial help too, depending how advanced the illness is.

Back to your problem re. the car. Just hide those keys!

Wish you strength for the future.Health Question & Answer
