I found it very interesting, what do you think about this new "cure".Health Question & Answer

Answers:
I am not a physician, but I do HIV education and testing, and work with an HIV specialist. I have not had had time yet to discuss this with him, but I am curious to hear his thoughts.

I think it is very interesting. Bone marrow transplant as treatment or cure for AIDS is something I have not thought of before, and have not seen in any other research. I would love to jump for joy over it, but I know that I can not believe everything I see on the internet, and any success of new treatment methods needs to be backed up by repeated success in scientific experiments. I am "cautiously optimistic." We will have to see if there are any follow up articles regarding this patient, or any further research studies based on this idea.

It does appear to be wonderful news.

That is interesting, and hopefully will lead to a cure that doesn't carry such a high risk of killing the patient itself. The radiation and drugs he took to prep for the transplant kills 20 to 30 percent.? That's pretty high.
I wasn't aware that they had found genetic resistance to HIV/AIDS. Gotta love evolution.Health Question & Answer

It does sound very neat. I have a friend that is carrying the aids virus and it does give people hope that one day, such a horrible disease can be cured = )Health Question & Answer
