Is it normal for your lungs to ache in places after you quit smoking?!

Question: Is it normal for your lungs to ache in places after you quit smoking.?
I'm 28 years old and have been a moderate smoker (up to a pack a day but not usually near that, on rare occasion more) for 15 years. I quit smoking 5 days ago and since then my chest cavity has ached, primarily in 2 spots... on my right side and on my left-center back near my spine, although I have been getting random aches all over my chest cavity. The only time I have really experience this type of pain is if I smoked over a pack in a night (a good night out drinking can do that) and it would last a few hours during a hangover, but nothing past that.

I do not wheeze or have any rattling coughing and am otherwise in good health. Health Question & Answer

Yep, it seems these pains are common if not normal. I also quit about 5 days ago and I'm having the same pains!
If the rest of your health is good and you have no other chest problems, don't worry. Simply be aware of it for a while and if it gets worse or you start to feel concerned, then go to your doctor.
Best of luck with giving up, and well done!Health Question & Answer

In order to see what is going on in your chest and lings you should see a Doctor who can order an X Ray to see just what is going on. You may also have an respiratory infection or an pneumonia going on in there, that needs to be treated. Congratulations on being smoke free for 5 days, and stay with it, Once you have stopped smoking your lungs begin to heal, get on a healthy diet and stay away from Alcohol as well. Alcohol is a toxic substance and addictive, Drink a lot of water it helps to flush out the toxins out of your body. It gets easier as you stay away from the toxins longer, and your health will improve
