Answers:
I'm allergic to nickel also so I feel your pain. yes there is nickel in the needles. But I also found out a year ago that I have an allergy to Betadine. The liquid they use to sterilize the site before they draw your blood. That liquid is the reason they ask you if you are allergic to iodine or shellfish. I'm not allergic to either but after a surgical procedure I found out that i'm allergic to Betadine. I broke out in a horrible rash from my waist to my ankles. It could be that. Talk to an allergy specialist. Health Question & Answer

Stainless steel contains various amounts of nickel - roughly 10%, give or take a few percent depending on the specific variety, so stainless steel is not hypoallergenic. Unfortunately, there probably isn't any alternative to stainless steel. Health Question & Answer

It's probably irritation from where the tape was holding the catheter in. Sometimes that rips out hair when they remove it.

Needles are generally made from stainless steel.Health Question & Answer
