get the shots for your entire family.
influenza is VERY serious - even in young healthy people.
there are no risks to the vaccine - in studies of adverse events, the only common adverse event is a sore shoulder.
don't give it a second thought - get one every year.Health Question & Answer

Was it necessary for you to get the flu shot before.? If not, then it's probably not necessary now.
I really hope your husband and you don't get one of the flu shots with 25 mcg of mercury, especially if you are breastfeeding. All of the multi-dose vials contain 25 mcg of mercury per dose. Insist on a single dose vial, previlled syringe, or the FluMist, although witth the FluMist there's a chance you or your husband could spread the flu to your daughter, because it is a live virus vaccine that replicates in your nose.
Off topic, but Cami, why would you assume she is not breastfeeding now that her baby is one year old.?Health Question & Answer

Unless you want to get sick, I highly suggest you and your daughter get the flu shot.
I'm sure there are some risks, because pretty much everything nowadays does, but I really doubt it's anything serious.
The only side effect [that I know of] for people that have never had one before, is that they might get slight flu symptoms for about a week or so after getting it. I forget why, but I think it's because your immune system has to get used to it.
Before you get a flu shot the doctors explain everything to you and make you fill out a form, so just ask them any questions you have. :-)Health Question & Answer

Everyone should get flu shots unless they are allergic to something in the shot, or their doctor advises them not to get one due to an unusual medical condition.
I get a flu shot every year. My arm is sore for a few days, and I have some cold symptoms for a few days, but no problems otherwise. I have not had the flu in over 25 years.Health Question & Answer

You should. Especially your daughter, now that she's a year and won't have your breast milk to strengthen her immune system. I mean it's not nessecary but why not.? It increases your chances of not getting sick and being sick around your baby.Health Question & Answer
