American cigarettes are made for profit, not quality. There are about 400 chemicals in American cigarettes that harm the body in many ways. There was a study done in Turkey a few years ago that was demanded by the government there to determine the affect of Turkish tobacco on a person's health. To everyone's surprise, the 100,000's of people that smoked at no different health than those that didn't. The study was between 2 years and 4 years long. The reason for this was that Turkish cigarettes have NO chemicals in them and they dry their leaves for a few days in the sun, unlike American tobacco farmers that dry their tobacco in hot ovens in a few hours. This has been found to alter the tobacco and make it unhealthy.
