It is possible that she's got something lodged up there - so suggest that to her GP so they can check as well.
Other reasons for the nasal passage could be more serious, even if just a stronger allergy than your GP first estimated - but all the same, they can sort it by process of elimination.

Other medical therapy would include a nasal steroid spray, but only your physician can prescribe that, and if its both nostrils that are blocked and nothing is working over months, it may be her adenoids are so large they are blocking the back of her nose. all the medicine in the world wont overcome that. ask your GP about a referral to an ENT. My 4 year old daughter has a similar problem. My GP (saw him yesterday) has advised cutting out cow's milk and gluten for 2 weeks to see if this helps as both can cause snotty noses in little children. We'll give it a go, can't hurt.Health Question & Answer
