your wording makes it sound like an assignment for some health qualification. Thats' cheating, isn't it.?! However:

my son (now 24 yrs old) has had Asthma since being 3 months old. These are some things we've found:

BAN anyone from smoking nearthe child and in the house

ensure that the child is on the correct medication for Asthma

keep the home warm but not stufy (have windows open during the day for a while)

GET RID of carpets, rugs, soft furnishings, etc. If not possible, keep those things to a minimum and keep clean (we replaced carpets with laminate flooring, and swapped sofas for leather settees, got rid of ornaments, etc., that gather dust)

Treat any damp that may be in the house

don't allow pets into the child's bedroom

try to ensure that the child is not out in foggy/damp/humid weather, unless properly attired and medicated beforehand

make sure that the school/nursery are aware of the child's Asthma, and that they know how to spot the symptoms of an attack. The child needs to KEEP inhalers in their school bag, NOT in the headmaster's office (some schools do that)

Health Question & Answer

Make sure the room is well ventilated.
Clean up dust regularly. Keep stuffed toys to a minimum. Honestly, this will make a big difference. Don't let cats and dogs roll around in their bedroom (asthma is mainly caused by allergens from animal hair).

I don't know if this would help but my sister used to get really bad asthma when her bed was near a window. In the winter there was condensation and it made her worse.Health Question & Answer
