Yay I got eczema again?!

Question: Yay I got eczema again.?
I havent had eczema since I was a kid, 15+ years. Now all of a sudden I have it all over my elbows and backs of my hands, seemingly overnight. I will be seeing the doctor soon, but what can help relive the itch around the house.? Does scratching it make it spread.?

Finally, could something like flea/tick/bug spray cause it.? I recently got a couch from a friend and I sprayed it down with Hertz bug spray. When that dried up I covered it in febreeze and brought it inside.

It's wool-like and very rough feeling, could the couch itself have caused this.? This is all that's changed in my life since this started.Health Question & Answer

Sorry to say that eczema is not something that goes away. you either have it or not. It flares up more in winter than anything.

Eczema is an allergic condition that affects the skin. Another name for eczema is dermatitis. Dermatitis is inflammation of the skin. There are several different types of dermatitis, but the one people usually mean when they say eczema is atopic dermatitis. Atopic refers to a lifelong tendency to allergic conditions such as asthma and allergic rhinitis (hay fever).

Eczema can be triggered by just about anything coming in contact with the skin. It occurs in atopic people, who are extra sensitive to skin irritation. Dry, flaky skin appears over red, inflamed areas, causing intense itching and burning.

Eczema is a very common condition, and it affects all races and ages, including young infants. About 1-2 percent of adults have eczema, and as many as 20 percent of children are affected. It usually begins early in life, even before asthma or hay fever. Most affected individuals have their first episode before age 5 years.

For some, the disease will improve with time. For others, however, eczema is a chronic or recurrent disorder. Although it can occur just once, it usually occurs on and off throughout life, or lasts the entire lifetime.

Eczema can be a difficult, frustrating condition. The natural human desire to scratch or rub an itchy rash just makes the condition worse, and treatments can be slow and are not always completely effective.

If the allergy-causing agent cannot be removed or identified, the next step is to lessen the allergic inflammatory response.

Apply an nonprescription steroid cream (hydrocortisone) along with anti-itching lotion (menthol/camphor, such as calamine). The cream must be applied as often as possible without skipping days until the rash is gone.

Diphenhydramine (Benadryl) in pill form may be taken for the itching. Caution - this medication may make you too drowsy to drive a car or operate machinery safely.

Clean the area with a hypoallergenic soap every day. Apply lubricating cream or lotion after washing.

It can come and go, especially with weather. The spray could cause an allergic reaction also. Buy some aloe vera and rub it on (i mean the plant not creams with aloe vera in it, the cream could irritate it.) I also put neosporin on my eczema when I run out of the really expensive cream.

Any irritants could have caused it. I get eczema out brakes when I use sunscreens (or it may be my sun-allergy).Health Question & Answer

Main thing with Eczema is comfort and clean. My son has it he's 7. I have cleared it up with my love, and education about what causes the outbreaks. Health Question & Answer

Hello there. I suggest that you should try anti-eczema cream/spray combo from Champori.com It is herbal (steroid-free) and works better and faster on my eczema than anything else I tried: I haven't had a relapse for more than a year now after only a couple weeks of treatment. Champori comes with the money back guarantee, so if it doesn't work - it's free.
