Question about Rectal bleeding?!

Question: Question about Rectal bleeding.?
I am 26 and had a colonoscopy in June. They said I had inflamation in the rectum, hemmorroids and found one very small colon polyp. Monday I had bright streaks on my stool and a lil on toilet paper. It was also painful too. Should I get another colonoscopy or is it probally just hemmorroids again.? ThanksHealth Question & Answer

Chrissy, Bright red indicated bleeding very close to the anus; which usually means hemorrhoids or a small tear. If you were checked out clean in June it is not likely a reason for concern as it takes awhile (years) for polyps to grow into a cancerous state. If the polyp was benign there is even less concern. Keep an eye on it. If it continues even with Prep H see your doctor. God Bless.Health Question & Answer

It is possible that you are suffering from a number of conditions, some of which could be stomach related (such as an ulcer) or bowel related ( irritation of the colon) especially if the blood is bright in color. In order to correctly diagnose your condition I would recommend a few tests; a ct scan, blood work, stool sample, and colonoscopy.

I hope that a tissue sample was forwarded for lab tests. It would seem likely that was done. Try to relate back over the past 72 hours about your bowel patterns. You can sometimes produce a streaking in your stool via excessive bowel movements. You should visit back to your gastroentorologist about your present complaints if they persist. Your family history is important and should be made known to the medial management team, including your primary care doctor. Health Question & Answer

the streaking and blood on the TP indicate fissures, or a hemorrhoid. But with any kind of bleeding in that area it's always best to have you PCP check it out... It could be colon cancer. It's more likely to be the hemmorhoid though. You're a bit young for colon cancer.Health Question & Answer

It is probably just your hemorrhoids again, they bleed a lot. But if you are that concerned you should get it checked out. Health Question & Answer
