How do you cure UTI's?!

Question: How do you cure UTI's.?
I've heard that there are prescriptions for the infection from your doctor and i have an appointment Friday, but i was wondering if they ever go away by themselves because its not as painful as yesterday..Health Question & Answer

The only way to cure a UTI is to take an antibiotic prescribed by your doctor. Take the entire course of medication. If you stop taking the meds before they are all, leftover bacteria could multiply and cause more problems. Untreated UTI could lead to kidney damage.

Drinking more water and cranberry juice can help prevent infection in the future, but they can not cure the infection.Health Question & Answer

When I was younger I used to get UTI's pretty frequently, but usually they would go away on their own. Make sure that you are drinking lots of water which will help flush the infection. I heard that cranberry juice is also good, but I hated the taste. Stay away from caffeine, alcohol and spicy foods that will only make it more painful. also, try taking AZO, you can get it at the drug store and it really helps to get rid of the burning. Hope that helps!Health Question & Answer

Drink lots of water, and by lots I mean like 3-5 L a day. This will dilute the bacteria and allow your body to fight it more effectively. Secondly cranberry juice helps to acidify the urine, and reduce bacterial adhesion to the lining of the bladder. Thirdly, there are some probiotic tablets sold at most drug stores called AZO that I find to be very helpful. Health Question & Answer

drinking alot of cranberry juice water and taking azo did it for me..the second time. the first time i had meds from my doctor tho.. they can come back if you're not careful.. especially if you're lazy like me and skip the middle of the night pee.. lol.. Health Question & Answer

UTIs DO NOT go away on their own! You HAVE to have ANTIBIOTICS! If you do not go soon it will end up going into your kidneys. Over the counter stuff only PREVENTS one. It does not CURE one!Health Question & Answer
