Gardasil....is it too late to get it?!

Question: Gardasil....is it too late to get it.?
hey,

well im in my late teens and i really want to get gardasil injections and im just wondering whether to get it or not because although i havent had sex, ive been quite "intimate" a good few times and given a bj to one guy whos slept around....so potentionally i could alredi have at least one of the hpv strains.? and like i know people whove had sex can still get it..but i mean is there a point.? its a lot of money to just be wasting...

I definatly think i should get it though because i know ill regret it if i dont....

anyway is it possible to get hpv just though genital contact.?

thanks peeps =]

Answers:
it IS possible to spread HPV through genital contact, but gardasil is still effective against certain strains of HPV you have not yet been exposed to. the cost of the series is about five hundred dollars, but because you are still in the reccomended age category, it is likely covered by your parent's health insurance. Most women will get some form of hpv in there lifetime. Yes you should definitely get the gardasil vaccine, b/c i'm sure you will have more sexual partners in the future and the vaccine will help protect you. But make sure you still use condoms!Health Question & Answer

I think the oldest you can be is 26 to get it, it's not a waste though. it protects from strains of HPV that can cause cervical cancer. Might as well.Health Question & Answer

As long as you have not yet been exposed to the virus that causes genital warts you can still get a gardasil injection.Health Question & Answer

Gardisil protects against 4 forms of HPV so even if you had sex AND were infected with HPV the vaccine still would provide some protection. Get it right away.Health Question & Answer
