Why am I so vulnerable to a cold?!

Question: Why am I so vulnerable to a cold.?
This is the 3rd time I have gotten a cold this fall/winter. I haven't gotten the flu or a sinus infection. I have a strong immune system but why am I so vulnerable to a little cold. Is anyone else like this.?Health Question & Answer

Maybe you are missing out on some core vitamins and minerals in your diet that is affecting your immune system.

Make sure you eat fruits and veggies and also drink plenty of fluids.

also, eat nuts and almonds, they are good protein sources for you and don't forget oily fish - naturally high in 'good' fats.

Have you been feeling stressed at all.? In addition to tiredness and lack of sufficent vitamins and minerals, prolonged stress or anxiety can leave you susceptable to allergies (it doesn't have to be 'extreme' levels of stress - just consistent - this exhausts your adrenal glands which can leave you more prone to existing allergies and even bring on new ones) - the symptoms of which - sneezing, blocked nose, dark circles under eyes etc. can mimic a cold.

Allergies are also a product of an over-active immune system - its your body reacting to things it needn't 'worry' about - so it could be that your body's immune system is a little too good! If things have been stressing you out, take a little more time to do the things that help you to relax - it can make all the difference! Health Question & Answer

You probably don't get enough quality rest, it's a common reason for chronic, "colds." also, take a good multivitamin daily and supplement with extra vitamin C.Health Question & Answer
