Does severe pain in my chest when coughing and green phlegm mean i have a chest infection?!

Question: Does severe pain in my chest when coughing and green phlegm mean i have a chest infection.?
i have been looking after my daughter all week who has had flu and a chest infection. i got up yesterday morning and could feel my chest was a bit sore. coughed a bit and as the day wore on i could feel phlegm loosening up. coughed up a bit last night but it was so painful i was in tears. it hurt for about 10 mins after.
had a bit of a temperature, mines normally about 36.5 and it was 37.9 last night.
didnt sleep at all last night, kept tossing and turning and watching the clock all night. kept feeling like i was going to be sick.
this morning it is just as painful and tastes funny when i cough.
i dont want to cough because it hurts so bad, but will not coughing up make it worse.?
do you think its a proper chest infection or just a virus.?
i hate going to the docs and will only go if i know i need treatment

Putting this question on here is a delay tactic, hoping someone will say you are ok........you know your ill and need antibiotics, and the sooner you get down to the doctors, the sooner you are going to get better!
Now that's what you would say to your daughter, so be a good mum and get down to your doctors today.....you'll be on the mend by Monday :o)

Hope your better soon
Health Question & Answer

Always check the phlegm color. If it's clear, white, or pale, the infection may still be viral, and antibiotics may not be necessary. If it's yellow, green, brown, or bloody, or if you are having fevers, chills, chest pains, or have other health problems, you might need antibiotics.
Consult your doctor.
Health Question & Answer

Sounds like extreme radiation poisoning to me. Been near any power stations, nuclear silos or Chelsea wine bars lately.? However the worst is yet to come. Your skin will go transparent and your testicles/ovaries will appear on the outside of your body. You'll be peeing pyroxide and coughing iron filings. Then you'll croak....
Otherwise...I think you might have a chest infection.Health Question & Answer

I don
