Not sure if i should see an eye doctor...?!

Question: Not sure if i should see an eye doctor....?
Well, my left eye is pretty red it just starts to water out of nowhere like tears coming down...while me other eye is perfectly fine...I've had Pink Eye and I dont think thats it because i dont wake up with the crust or anything around my eyes. But, my eye (just one eye) itches ... well like a tickely feeling...like a feather is tickling it...its been annoying me all day...well for the last few days.

Should i go to an eye doctor or just see if it goes away.? Could it be allergies, well, ive never had a sign of allergies before....?

Thanks for you help. =)Health Question & Answer

It's better to err on the side of caution. Go see an opthamologist not an optomitrist that does glasses exams. It will probably cost around $100 but he is an M.D. unlike an optomitrist and your insurance will pay, if you have it. I had a similar condition a few years ago. I woke with a black eye and an eyeball that turned completely red. I saw an opthamologist. A tiny blood vessel had burst in my eye but required no treatment. It cleared up in 3 or 4 days. I would still see the doctor just in case it's serious.Health Question & Answer

I would say if it's continuing for 3 days then I would probably go to the eye doctor. I do remember having something like this though, but it only lasted a few days, then went away. just don't let it go on for a week or more without going to the doctor.

A long time ago I had a friend whose eye got infected and he lost the vision in that eye, so I think you should see an eye doctor.Health Question & Answer
