Question: Question for those with UC or a gi doctor.?
i have pancolitis which is a form of UC. I am 17 years old and was diagnosed with UC on October 21 2008, so i am very new to this. I was hospitalized twice since my diagnosis. The first when diagnosed then again on Nov 7. my gi tried every treatment under the sun for weeks at a time my last option b4 surgery was remicade. It seems to work. i have had only one treatment. I go next week for another is it normal for me to have the mucus back in my stool before the next treatment. I went to my gi yesterday but didn't notice the mucus till last night.Health Question & Answer

With an over active immune system in your digestion your immune system attacks the good and the bad in your digestion. Sometimes fat in your diet can have trouble digesting which can lead to mucus.
After 7 surgeries for crohn's I gave up on medications and found using meditation and yoga help me keep control without having to face the side effects of remicade. (that does not mean you should stop taking your medication, everyone is different with IBD) I went to a place called the chopra center for well being in California to work with 2 medical doctors who helped me in amazing ways.
