THere are two.But asthma has to be ruled out.Consider the internet.My daughter 5 years old just recoverd from it but missed soo much school!! They have a perscription called Augmentin they will perscribe.Cough meds only help at night but if its regular bronchitis the coughing may remain for weeks at a time.They also have trouble breathing when active so should remain quiet.Go to the internet..type in bronchitis and it will tell you the difference between the two and how to handle it for what ages.Good Luck.Its an aweful thing.Especially when my child has a heart condition.Health Question & Answer

Bronchitis is bronchitis. Some people have a chronic (long term) cough and thus the "chronic" addition to the term. If you just got a recent illness and are coughing, it is "acute" meaning now. You can go to WebMd for further information on bronchitis.Health Question & Answer
