Ovarian Cancer Diagnosis?!

Question: Ovarian Cancer Diagnosis.?
I am a little worried now (ok major), I always look up my symptoms online when ever i am unwell, it saves all the messing about going to a doctor, but recently i missed a period, and i have been having these really sharp shooting pains in my stomach, really painful, I read up on these symptoms, and they all came to mean one thing, Ovarian Cancer, I am 18 years old, just wondered if there is any help of some sort in the UK.?!.?!

Thanks in advance

If you look up on the internet and carefully cross-check the symptoms, the chances are you'll work out you have about five fatal diseases and that you should have already died. :-)

Use the NHS, go make an appointment with the doc and have a chat - at the very least, they can test and you'll know one way or the other, but for your age group cancers are rare, but your body still faffing about and finishing off its growing and mucking about isn't rare at all.Health Question & Answer

The internet is great for providing people with information but when it comes to health advice you need to talk to some one who is trained to listen and ask you the correct questions to help you explore all the possibilities for your present symptoms.
You need some one who is professionally trained and not emotionally involved with you to assess your situation and analyse the facts.
To be thinking that you have a cancer diagnosis is very worrying to hear and I suggest that you contact your doctor or talk to another appropriate adult who can direct you to have the source of these pains investigated.
The level of pain that individuals can experience before and during their menstrual cycle can vary tremendously but you must get this assessed.Health Question & Answer

Hi sweety

Your best of really going to your doctor, or speaking to a healthcare professional about your pain and concern.

A missed period is not uncommon at your age, but you can ring NHS direct and explain what the problem is and there is someone qualified to help you, i have used them myself many times and they are fantastic. The Number is 0845 46 47.Health Question & Answer

Very unlikely at your age.

Probably a cyst, or endometriosis, or a fibroid.

DON'T WORRY. Just relax.

Book an appointment with a GP and talk it over. Make sure you get a scan or something.Health Question & Answer

There are many other things it could be. My G.P. advised me never to read up symptoms on the internet and I never do. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing.Health Question & Answer

too many other things have the same symptoms, if you continue to feel bad please see your doctor. Could be as simple as the flu bug, really doubt you have anything serious.Health Question & Answer
