How to treat insomnia?!

Question: How to treat insomnia.?
I'm pretty sure i have some sort of mild insomnia. I have trouble falling asleep and then when i finally do, i only sleep for 2-3 hours, before waking up again, and not being able to fall asleep...again.
So how do you think i can cure this, i only slept for 5 1/2 hours last night (not in a block, 2 hours than awake for 4 1/2 hours, than sleep for 3 1/2 hours)
Thanks in advance.Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Insomnia is often caused by fear, stress, anxiety, medications, herbs, caffeine, depression or sometimes for no apparent reason. Make sure your bedroom is quiet and dark. Take plenty of yogurt throughout the day. Soak a tablespoon of mint leaves in a cup of water for an hour, drink every night. I have this problem too. I find that when I am in bed trying to sleep, things are going round and round in my head and that's why I can't sleep. I sometimes take a mild sedative and it puts me out for around 4 hours and then I can carry on sleeping. I think the sleep pattern is the problem. I can't go to sleep early because I'm not tired but then when I finally do wake in the morning, I'm really sleepy. If I could find a way to get to sleep early, maybe it would break the sleep pattern and I would sleep until early hours but get enough sleep. Perhaps this is what is wrong with you too. If you can make yourself really tired so that you go to sleep early, perhaps you would sleep better. They say that the sleep you get before midnight is the sleep that really does you good. After midnight is not so good. Anyway, good luck with it, I hope you manage to overcome this problem. It's not fun, is it.?Health Question & Answer
