Question: What medication is used to sedate you when having a tooth out.?
I have to go to hospital to have a broken wisdom tooth out and was told I would be sedated but not with actual general anesthetic.. Does anyone know what they use and how 'away with the fairies' you become as I am bricking it!Health Question & Answer

I had a minor operation under a general sedation and oh my it was real nice stuff!!!! Its great, dont be worried about it......I didnt feel or remember a thing.... I felt a bit nauseous when I came round but wasnt actually sick or anything..

When I worked for an oral surgeon back in the 80's they used a drug called Brevital for office procedures.. If you are going to the operating room, where I work now, there are drugs such as Versed (sedative), Propofol (amnesiac) and Fentanyl (narcotic for pain) that they use for many procedures not requiring general anesthesia..Health Question & Answer
I had two wisdom teeth taken out about two years ago, at the same time.. The medication was of a "Local" nature and i can honestly say, hand on heart that i felt no pain whatsoever..
