That pain/pressure does mean that your teeth are being pulled into alignment by the braces.. That's why you go to the orthodontist on a regular basis to get your braces tightened--to keep the corrective pressure at the right level.. After a while, the pressure will ease off and/or your nerves will stop reacting as strongly to the sensation..
My teeth hurt for a day or so each time I got my braces tightened.. If it's really bothering you, try Anbesol on your gums to numb it up right away or take aspirin, Tylenol, ibuprofen or naproxen.. The pain and pressure will ease off gradually over the next day or so..Health Question & Answer

Yes it does, which is a good thing! I just got mine on 9 days ago so I haven't gotten mine tightened yet, but they are constantly moving while you have your braces on.. I too recommend the ambesol jr numbing stuff.. By the time I got that stuff my pain from getting them on was nearly gone, but it will come in handy when I get them tightened..
