Question: If there are any dentists wasting time on this website, I'd like to borrow a little knowledge.......?
I recently had a molar extracted (mandibular first molar on left side) and I was curious with this type of extraction how the teeth normally shift.. Both teeth behind it are healthy and intact, and because I have a bit of mandibular assymetry, I was hoping the teeth in front of it would shift backwards a little, so my bite would improve.. What do you think the chances of this happening are.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Your teeth will shift but not the way you think,,,,the two outer teeth will start to fall over to fill the gap and look like a v-shape.. The tops move but not the roots.. I would recomend talking to your dentist to see what you best option to fill that void would be..

could just need a space maintainer or do something more permanet and get a bridge..Health Question & Answer

Naturee abhors a void and will fill in that gap somewhat.. How much depends on more information than you have provided and no dentist will be able to give you more of an answer than "maybe" without a throrough exam, including x-rays..

Go see an orthodontist..Health Question & Answer
