The tooth that you need pulled should be up to you.. The dentist's you have seen probably want to preserve the tooth, so therefore want you to treat the tooth instead of pulling it.. Tell them that is what you want, it is what YOU decided.. A good dentist will do that for you.. It's your decision.. You may have to pay for it later with implants or a bridge, but I do understand your pain! I had tooth pain for years!!
The wisdom teeth are another story.. A good dentist will recommend a good oral surgeon for you.. Tell them you are in pain and you can't take it anymore and spell out exactly what you need and expect!! It's your mouth, you are paying them......never forget they work for YOU!! It's their job to get you out of pain and fix your teeth!Health Question & Answer

First of all, see the same dentist each time so he knows what to expect and knows where to begin from knowing your records.. When you go, make sure to tell the assistant how very afraid you are.. She will tell the dentist and try to put you at ease.. The dentist can give you medication for pain.. Don't fight it.. Don't skip the appointment because if you do it's just going to get worse.. Go and get it over with.. You can do it.. You are not a child anymore.. When I go, I go to a pediatric dentist who takes care of not only children but people who are deathly afraid of dentists.. He's marvelous.. They are not trying to hurt anyone, they are there to help you.. It's not all that bad.. Good luck..Health Question & Answer

You are going to be fine.. I just had a tooth pulled yesterday, and I'm a huge chicken.. I'm sore but getting better.. I hope you feel better.. until you get to the dentist, use ice packs on the area for 20 minutes on and 20 off.. might help the pain.. I've had some relief with using oragel on it or even sore throat spray in a pinch.. (don't use it after the tooth is pulled though unless the dentist says it's ok.... usually they say saltwater is better because it heals the mouth)Ask the dentist if you should take something like advil before you go, they usually recommend that so you won't get swollen or sore..
