Crown fell off, nerve exposed, can I use temp cement?!

Question: Crown fell off, nerve exposed, can I use temp cement.?
My crown fell off of my back molar today while I was eating a sticky candy.. Apparently the nerve or root or w..e is slightly exposed, and I'm due for a root canal in a month or so..

I would go straight to the dentist in the morning, but he's on vacation until monday (like 5 more days)..

Is it ok to reapply the crown with the temp cement you can buy at the drug store (I think it's called Dentemp) or will it cause problems with the exposed root.?

Keep in mind I already had the crown cemented on in the same condition, I just wanted a few more opinions before I took a painful leap..Health Question & Answer

Answers:
even temporary cementation needs an expert, as if the crown isnt placed properly u wont be able to take it off, or some excess cement may press on gums, pain may be provoked if the cement irritate the nerveHealth Question & Answer

I feel so bad for you.. This has happened to me before.. My dentist has an emergency backup dentist though.. One time this happened my dentist said I could use peanut butter to hold it on, but that was just a portion of my crown and thank God the nerve wasn't exposed.. I'd wait a little longer on the glue.. Really call another dentist and explain your situation.. I'll pray for you.. I know what you're going through..Health Question & Answer
