Question: Tooth infection......i'm scared!.?
I've had a tooth infection for like the past 3 months (maybe more) and I'm supposed to go pull my tooth soon.. My dentist already prescribed antibiotics but my infection did not go away.. I didn't think it was a big deal.. So this morning I woke up with a really sore throat......my tonsils are swollen and I'm really scared.. Does that mean the infection has spread.? What could happen.? And how dangerous is it.?Health Question & Answer

the infection can spread, it also depends on if it is an upper or lower , front or back tooth.. did you take the antibiotics like you should have.? it could also be an unrelated issue.. you should call the dentist and have him see yiou or he'll have you go to the oral surgeon fotr an evaluation.. if you are having trouble swallowing or breathing call the dentist asap.. the infection could spread and be life threatening.. call the dentist!Health Question & Answer
I'm not trying to scare you......but you need to get to your doctor as soon as possible.. The infection has spread and I cannot tell you how dangerous this is!! I have know people to end up with abcesses growing into the brain and causing seizures and some have even died.. Please call and make an appointment right away..
