i;m going in a week to get molds..i've already had a consultation,where they looked at my teeth and talked about how much it would cost..so what all happens the next visit..i know they do molds..and if i need spacers will they put them on the same day as the molds..and whats the whole procedure of gettin the braces put on..Health Question & Answer

Ok, I've had braces for almost a month, & they're really not bad.. They will more than likely put spacers in the same day as molds.. Normally, the procedure is that they take your spacers out (if you needed to get them) & fit these little metal circles on your back teeth.. They'll get a stick & keep telling you to bite down until the circles are all the way in.. This part doesn't hurt too bad, it's just alot of pressure.. Then, somebody else will come in, & if those little metal circles are fit, then they'll take them out.. Then, they'll put the glue on, & they take a big purple light & shine it in your mouth.. It's so bright you have to close your eyes.. :P Next, they'll fit the brackets on, which doesn't hurt one bit.. It's like someone's scraping your teeth.. Then you have to go rinse (which feels really weird) After THAT, they'll go over proper brushing methods, what foods to stay away from, blah, blah, blah, & then you're done.. The whole thing takes about 1-2 hours.. It may be different at some places, though..
~My advice is to take pain medicine BEFORE you go! That way, it will already be working.. & make sure to eat soft foods the first couple days!

When go to get braces put on they will first take your spacers out.. which are rubber bands wedged between your teeth so the metal bands can fit.. Then the orthodontist puts a plastic mouth piece on your mouth to hold lips back to expose all the teeth and to keep from lip falling onto your teeth while he works..
he will check to make sure the teeth are clean so he can start to put braces on, he will place glue spots where the braces will sit and places brace on then will dry the glue with a heat plasma light (Its fast)It taste nasty so try not to swallow, Then the arch wire is threaded threw each bracket and then tightened snugly to fit that's it They will also place o- rings on and can get this is several colors or one color of your choice..

Ok well, I got molds and about 2-3 months later i got braces.. They dont hurt that much if you take advil.. Your teeth will hurt for about 5 days.. But its a pain to floss.. Seriously I got mine in april..

First they give you spacers to even things out.. After the spacers i had a bridge put in and it sucked cuz i couldnt eat.. Then comes the braces, you might need to put rubber bands on.. then you finally get them off and your mouth feels waaaayy betterHealth Question & Answer
My son and daughter are going through this no biggy it will take about 18 months you'll have appointments from 2 to 6 weeks apart.. They usually put spacers on first and then the braces 3 to 6 weeks after that..

O..k im betting braces august forth they give u d molds which u have already had but u get another x ray n pictures but if u dont need spacers u dont get em den u set another appontment for bracesHealth Question & Answer
