There's other things you can eat, you can't go on indefinitely living on yogurt! Try warm soup with bread dipped in, mashed potato, carrots etc boiled soft and mashed, banana milkshakes (make your own), weetabix, readybrek etc..

Treatment depends on what's causing the pain.. If you need a filling they will probably do that there and then, or even pull the tooth is there's no way of saving it.. If you have an abcess you will be given antibiotics and they will take a few days to work..

If your body isnt getting the proper nutrients to survive, it will start to shut down on its own.. Fainting a form of not getting enough oxygen to your brain because your body has no where to pull it from.. You are in bad water here.. I would highly advise you eating whatever you can at this point to start to re-nurish your body.. Water, juices, yogurt, bananas, anything that will help.. At this point if your tooth is that bad, your painkillers should help enough so that you can move your jaw enough to eat.. If that doesnt work, use Oragel on it temporarily so you can eat.. also....not to be mean, but if you have 4 children......if something happened to you because of your tooth, is it really worth it.?Health Question & Answer

Depending on what's wrong with the tooth, you may have to go back for another appointment if they can't treat you right then.. Painful teeth seem to often result in root canals, which they'll probably need to schedule you for.. Likely you'll walk out of there with at least a prescription for painkillers, though..

In the meantime, everyone has suggested great ideas with the soft foods and nutrition shakes..

I had some work done this winter and ran all my food through a blender for two days because I was in agony.. Home-style chicken noodle soup (with veggies and real chicken, not the instant stuff) blends quite nicely without seeming too much like baby food.. You could probably get some chili down as well..

People are different.. Some can go 2-3 days without eating at all and not feel faint.. Some, only a day or so.. Since your at least eating a little.... I give it another week.. Your body will get weak.. Try to eat something better than yogurt.. I would try eggs.. Good luck.. :]Health Question & Answer

you need to be eating food, or atleast taking liquids.. Try health shakes.. Don't pop painkillers on an empty stomach, or your kids will find you passed out at the bottom of the stairs..
