Braces.??help.?!
Question: Braces...?.?help...?
i'm getting braces in exactly two weeks..what's the whole process of putting them in..and do they hurt..and what should i do before going to get them that day..please help..Health Question & Answer

NO they do not hurt ! =) trust me I'm getting my braces off in about 2 weeks ! but uh braces dint hurt you may feel a little bit of pain after wards but nothing bad ! in fact to tell you the truth my braces did not hurt even a little BUT IF THEY DO EAT SOME SOFT FOODS LIKE BREAD , but it was the spacers that made my teeth hurt a little ! =) you ll just feel a little bit of pressure after wards but no real pain at all ! it doesn't even hurt a smudge when there put on either i was freaked at first but i was surprised with how i didn't feel a thing ! they just put a plastic thingy in your mouth to keep your tongue from touching your tooth because then they have to start all over ! =( but they just put this nasty tasting stuff on your teeth and use a light like twice and then stick on each bracket then they put in a silver metal cap type thing on your 2nd to last teeth to support the wire i guess that's what its for ! =) but its about a 40 to an hour thing that wont hurt trust me ! At least you didn't have to be [put to sleep a few mouths later to have 4 permanent teeth pulled becks your mouth was to small, and man that hurt after wards ! Ive had my braces for about 2 years and on July 30 getting them taken off ! = 0

gosh i had braces like 4 years ago,
all i remember is putting a lot of cotton things in your mouth so no saliva gets on your teeth, because it needs to be dry for the cement to hold on the brackets, for me they had a jaw opener, to keep my jaw open, which hurt! After your all done, expect a disgustin taste in your mouth, they will most likely give you water and a couple minutes to get the gross taste out of your mouth.. Afterwards it might hurt, or feel uncomfortable, sometime wires can stick out and poke you, but they usually tuck those.. After getting them tightened they will be sore, i always remember that gettin the bottom wire tighted on my botton teeth hurt worse, because those teeth are smaller and can move more, and your jaw is oviously going to hurt as well..

It definately feels really awkward.. They put your mouth in some really really funny positions, lol.. It doesn't really hurt though.. They might put some metal bands around your back teeth which pinch a little, but I never cried or felt much pain when they put mine on a few years ago.. They take some getting used to but once you have them on for a while you'll forget what its like without them.. Don't worry, you'll be fine.. =]
Just definately eat a lot before, because your teeth will be too sore to chew good food for a little while!

I actually just had mine taken off after 2 years of wearing them.. They're really not as bad as people make them out to be.. Believe me, retainers are a lot worse.. It wont hurt when they're putting your braces on but it will hurt a lot afterword.. You may not be able to chew because of the pain but it will only last a few days.. After that once in a while when you get them tightened it will hurt like this again but not every time.. There's not really anything you should do before hand.. Good luck!Health Question & Answer
They will hurt for the first few weeks .. The first day doesn't really hurt that bad, it the second day where they kick in.. You'll probably only be able to eat soft foods for at last the first two weeks, but hey i always got to convimce my mom to buy me smoothies n such..

it really only hurts when they tighten them.. Other than that, you should be fine.. Just make sure you brush.... A LOT!Health Question & Answer
