How do i eat with my "fixed" retainer?!


Question: How do i eat with my "fixed" retainer.?
okay so i went 2 the ortho.. yesterday, and i got a retainer.. not the regular kind, the kind they cement 2 ur teeth or whatever.. getting it on wasnt that bad except they sucked all the saliva out of my mouth so it was ummm...... really dry..

now i have tons of problems with it!! i have a lisp with it because theres that big hunk of plastic on the front of my mouth where i have 2 put my tongue usually so i can speak right.. andddd, i cant eat cuz its in the way!!!!!


anyone who has had it...... how do i eat with this thing.? and talk.?.? thnx soo much!!!Health Question & Answer

well i personally recommend eating soft foods first like yogurt, soft fruits, or protein shakes, maybe even ice cream if your lucky.. drink alot of fluids to do restore your mouth.. after about 3 or 4 days you can move on to more foods and you will also soon acustom to talkingHealth Question & Answer

when i first got mine, i kept playing with it and licking it for the first week.. but soon, i didnt notice it anymore..

the only time i do notice it is when food gets stuck in it, then i go to the bathroom and bust out the floss!

Eventually your mouth will get used to it, if you visit your orthodontist and they say it's supposed to be that way..
My expander was really unpleasant when I first got it on, but I got used to it..Health Question & Answer

Go back to your orthodontist and have them grind it down a little.. It sounds like they make it too thick..Health Question & Answer
