Question: Just got braces - few questions.?
Hi, I just got my braces on today.. I am a 14 year old boy with incredibly messed up teeth so I'm glad I finally got them on.. The process was fine and once I got home they started to hurt but I relieved it with some advil.. I have a few questions though.. I can't bite down because I have this bad overbite and every time I bite down, my top front teeth touch the brackets on my bottom teeth.. If I go any further it hurts and I feel they could fall off if I push hard enough just from biting down.. I haven't figured out how to eat yet besides soups and things small enough to swallow without chewing.. Has anyone experienced this before.?
also, a couple hours after I got home I was just sitting there watching TV, I hadn't eating anything or touched my braces, but one of them popped off my teeth.. Not the wire the actual bracket fell off my tooth, wondering if this happens too.. Thanks for the help!Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Brackets falling off when you first get them is really normal because the glue hasnt had much time to dry yet, just go back really soon to have another put back on and wait a day or two before you eat anything hard, chewy, etc..(even though your not supposed to eat that stuff......sssshhhh haha) once the glue has dried, you really dont have to worry about them falling off, even if you bite on them, like in your case.. The overbite will be corrected soon anyways........you will be suprised at how fast they straighten out.. It will be hard to eat and it will hurt and stuff at first but once you get used to them, it will be fine.. hope that helped......good luck! :)Health Question & Answer
yeah one of my brackets popped off too
just go back to the orthodontist and get them to glue it back on
and don't delay with that one!

Its best to eat with your very back teeth..
