I have been told for three years that an awfull pain in my face was all in my mind this is wrong...?
I had thought my pain was a jawbone cavitation but was laughed out of the dental hospital when I made this claim.. Four years on since the pain began I have had the presence of a jawbone cavity confirmed just today.. My self diagnosis has been correct all this time even though numerous dentists had told me I was definately wrong.. Can I claim any damages or the cost for the operation to fix this problem.. I have suffered with depression since this beagn and it caused me to fail University and become suicidal.. Any advice would be appreciated..

It would have to be worth going back to them and telling them they have left you in pain & misery all this time..
Didn't they do any tests/xrays to investigate the problem.?
It sounds more like they simply couldn't SEE the actual problem and thus had no way to deal with it.. In that case they have done the best they could..
If they refused to investigate though - I would definitely consider legal action!Health Question & Answer

its worth a go yes, if you would have had the operation at the begining years ago when it first started then it may not have been as bad as it now.. things get worse the longer they are left and if you have been wrongly diagnosed all these years then its worth seeking professional advice to see if you can..
people have sued for a lot less thing so i would say you do have a chance..Health Question & Answer

The Dentists were negligent.. They failed to spot what was wrong on several occasions.. OK it could have been worse it could have been cancer..............................................but there comments that it was all in your head, was detrimental to your mental health..

At the very least you want an apology and an explanation of how this occurred.. And to teach them a lesson so that it is less likely to happen again..

And if it was a private practise sue the *** of them!Health Question & Answer

Find yourself a good solicitor with experience of medical negligence matters.. I don't know whether you have grounds for a claim, but they should..Health Question & Answer

I would certainly have a word with a solicitor about seeking some compensation from the people who didnt diagnose a problem correctly even after youd told them what you suspected..Health Question & Answer

maybe you should consult one of those compensation lawyers.?
Firstly you should contact the dental hospital and enquire about their official complaints procedureHealth Question & Answer
