Question: Doubleing rubber bands on braces.?!.?
i just read that someone did this && got their braces off in less than a year! ive had mine for a lil over a year && am supposed to have them for like 2-2 1/2 but i havent been wearing my rubberbands && i dont wanna have them on for any longer than i have to!!! i doubled the rubberbandsd right now && ill be honest its alot more pressure than usual.. is it ok that im doing this!.?!.?!.?!.?!Health Question & Answer

My orthodontist "praised" me for wearing my elastics properly and not doubling them up.. when you double them up, it's not good: it adds a new, different, and BAD force on your teeth.. chances are you'll have braces on longer.. i wore my elastics as instructed, and my orthodontist is thinking that maybe i'll have my braces off a lil sooner, no definites yet, but he said becuase i wore them perfectly (elastics0 and kept them clean (teeth and braces) i should be able to get my braces off around september, possibly end of august! doing everything right and being the perfect braces wearer and care......uh...... (care taker.?!) has really paid off! i was supposed to wear them for more than two years, and it has been almost two years (this september.. apparently by oing everything right, i cut down on braces time by at least four months!Health Question & Answer
hahahaha me to - i had braces, never wore ruber bands.... anyway orthodontist did not seem to notice....
i tried doubling the bands and he asked if i had been wearing them a different way....
it isnt good apparently - pulls your teeth in a different way as it has more force or some crap like that!! anyway i personally would not advise it....
the time it takes does not depend only on the rubberbands.... it is other things that contribute - did your friend wear catswhiskers.? or etc.... everyone has different teeth....

I dont think it would be a good idea, My bands right now ( only have one) have band the mental on my upper tooth :( so its gonna break soon but its weekend no dentist:(Health Question & Answer
