How long will it take for my braces to stop hurting?!

When you first get your braces on, the pain will last longer than the next few times you get your braces tightened.. It'll last about a week, but don't worry, after three days the pain will be tolerable.. Then after that when you get your braces tightened, each time you do so, it hurts less and less and for short periods of times.. There are times when the pain will be ignorable and then the times that when it's not, it'll only last a day or two.. The only "really bad" pain you will feel after is getting heavier wires or rubber bands, though, the pain isn't really bad; it's bearable..

Just make sure you listen to all of your orthodontist's instructions and take care of your teeth, so you can get your braces off sooner...... I only had mine for seven months and I'm getting them off really soon..Health Question & Answer

it only took a couple days right after I got my braces on.. If it is just hurting from a "checkup" where they tighten the wire, then give it one night, perhaps 12 hours.. It didn't take long for me to start eating again......Health Question & Answer
