Question: If you need braces again for the second time, is the treatment free if it's still the same orthodontist.?
i have to discuss getting my top braces back on with my orthodontist because my teeth moved because of an incident involving the loss of my retainer.. it was just last year that i got them off and i still have the same ortho, so is it free with him.? and for the orthodontists answering this question, please answer this one too, thanks

Hello..........Your not wearing the retainer, regardless of the reason, is responsible for the teeth now being out of alignment........Your Orthodontist bares absolutely "no" responsibility for the teeth now needing to be realigned.. Of course it WON'T be free!!!! It's not the doctor's fault you lost your retainer, why the heck would he go through all that trouble for no charge.?.?.? He's not obligated to and he would be crazy and out of his freakin mind if he did it for free!!! The doctor already did his job, you obviously didn't! If you lost your retainer, you should have called the ortho right away so he could get you a new one made.. And that wouldn't have been free either! But at least it would have been several thousand dollars cheaper than a new set of braces.. And are you really ready to have braces back on for a year or two.? Go to your orthodontist and ask him for his opinion.. You might have other options if your teeth only moved slightly! Don't ask him if it will be free to get your braces back on, he will only laugh at you and think your kidding.. Good luck though!Health Question & Answer
