no.. brushing wont help much when it somes to gum disease and gross teeth.. your gonna get that no matter how much you brush.. PLEASE DONT SMOKE!!! it is a major turn off for most grls, and for the ones it isnt a turn off to, do you really wanna date them.?.? and a gross mouth isnt the only side affect if smoking.. it affects your lungs, heart, and throat.. and most of your inner organs.. not only does it affect you, but everyone else around you as well.. and the smell doesnt go away just from perfume or calogne, or a shower!! ppl can smell it, and its gross.. check out these sights!!

I HOPE I HELPED, AND IM SERIOUS, SMOKING CAN AND WILL RUIN YOUR LIFE.. IT DOESNT LOOK COOL, AND IT IS SOMETHING YOU WILL REALLY REGRET!! DONT YOU EVER WONDER WHY EVERYONE WANTS TO QUIT.?.? AND WITH GAS AND GROCERY PRICES GOING UP, YOU WONT BE ABLE TO AFFORD THE CIGARETTES!! :)Health Question & Answer

It really depends; some smokers have nothing happen and some get terrible mouth conditions and even loose all their teeth.. It's really hard to say and varies from person to person.. Though I've had three of my aunts die from lung cancer and my uncle had to get dentures all due to smoking.. It must be certain genes that the tobacco likes.. Ick!

If your cousin keeps trying to peer pressure you into it you need to give him a harsh talking to.. Asking someone once if they would like to is fine, but when it become persistent that is a problem.. Tell him or her you find the habit disgusting and that he or she needs to stop asking you because you're not going to change your mind.. Stick to your guns.. Smoking is a terrible habit and highly unattractive..Health Question & Answer

I'm a smoker and I've found that my teeth were harmed much more by drinking lots of soda..

But it's been a lot harder for me to avoid gum disease.. I have to be really extra-careful to keep my gums clean or else they get irritated.. I think nonsmokers probably have an easier time with preventing this problem..

So I'd say YES it's easier to get gum disease, but NO smoking won't rot your teeth.. Problem is, if you get gum disease you can lose your teeth even if there aren't any cavities in 'em! It's a pain to keep it away and if you have to have special treatment for it, that's even worse......

As for the looks of the teeth, that depends on genetics and on how porous the enamel is (it looks solid, but may have microscopic pores/permeability).. I've been lucky, mine are colored evenly which hides that "hey I'm a smoker" look, but I'd say it's darkened them down a couple of shades.. So they're not bright-white, but not ugg-lee either......who knows what'll happen if I did it for another 50 years, though!

A lot of the damage from smoking is cumulative, meaning that it doesn't show up in just a year or two......

Don't let your cousin con you into trying smoking, it's horribly addictive! The reason people don't quit smoking isn't because they're dumb, it's because the fits are TORTURE!Health Question & Answer

Not necessarily, although it is difficult to prevent the staining of the teeth associated with smoking.. There's a lot of variation between people due to genetics as well as oral care habits..Health Question & Answer
