Question: Tooth abscess.?
Well, my mom is allowing me to use her account to better explain my question.. I am 13 years old and I have a had a pretty bad cavity for maybe a month, about to weeks ago it chipped and from there it went downhill.. The tooth apperently got infected and there is now an abscess.. For a child, I have a very high tolerance for pain but, this is unbelievable.. It gets to the point where the pain comes in sharp waves that make me twitch as the waves come.. Well, tommorow is my dentist appointment, what do you think will be done.?Health Question & Answer

They will not do a root canal in that appointment, they would have told you if they would..
They will take an x ray and give you antibiotics and if it doesn't take it away, a root canal will be considered and maybe a tooth extraction (although this is highly unlikely because of your age)..
