Tooth problem. Do you have an opinion?!

Question: Tooth problem.. Do you have an opinion.?
Yesterday I had a metal glued on retainer taken off the back of my teeth.. To get the glue off the ortho used that buzzy, sanding, spinny thing.. (Sorry-IDK what it's called).. Ever since that, now where the glue was, my tooth randomly hurts! It's not constant, but is annoying.. Do you think he took off too much with the sander or is it that my teeth can freely move now and some hurt.? or Both

Thanks and I always give out the best answer quickly!Health Question & Answer

A couple things could be causing your sensitivity..................first, your tooth might be a little sore and sensitive where the slow speed drill sanded off the cement.. If that's it, the sensitivity will slowly go away in a few days or so..

Secondly, the back of those teeth are used to being protected and covered up, and now they are experiencing cold air and food again for the first time in a long time, and they need to get used to that..

If the dentist removed the retainer because he thought you may have cavities around it, and if that is the case, as soon as the cavity is removed, they will feel better.. Make sure you make it to your next regular checkup so the dentist can see.. If it starts hurting worse, have a dentist peek at it to be sure, otherwise, they should calm down on their own..Health Question & Answer
